Tension in Lentil Markets
PANAMA - Jan 22/21 - SNS -- International lentil markets finished the week's trading on a firm note against declining available supplies and increased grower resistance to making additional sales.
Prices paid to farmers have not improved since the beginning of September. Green lentil bids are mostly unchanged, while farmers are seeing lower prices for red lentils.
Stocks accumulated during the fall shipping period has limited the medium term needs of some buyers.
