Limited Changes in Chickpeas
PANAMA - Nov 27/20 - SNS -- International chickpea markets were unchanged in relatively steady trading interest during the past week.
This year has seen some interesting shifts in global trading patterns, with Turkey emerging as one of the most important exporters and importers of chickpeas during 2020, with exports running about 82,000 metric tons (MT) ahead of imports between January and September.
Its key suppliers are Mexico and Russia, while the country has seen major gains in shipments to the Middle East, Pakistan and Europe compared to the 2019 calendar year.
