Lentil Imports By Turkey Sustain Firm Performance

PANAMA - Nov 24/20 - SNS -- So far during this calendar year are keeping up their firmer performance, with lentil imports by Turkey leapt compared to the previous month in September, judging from trade statistics from Turkish Statistical Institute (TURKSTAT).

Total imports during the month amounted to 30,223 metric tons (MT), up 87% from the previous month's total of 16,196. So far imports have totalled 455,351 MT, up from 226,353 in the same period the previous calendar year.

Recent trade statistics reported Canada was largest exporter, supplying 25,640 MT for the month. Kazakhstan was the second most important exporter selling 2,210 MT, followed by Russia at 955 MT.
