Spot Peas Hold Firm Tone

PANAMA - Nov 14/20 - SNS -- Spot markets for field pea markets maintained their firm tone through the past week, though some chinks in the armor were appeared in deferred shipping positions.

Export movement from Canada peaked in September, but available data suggests it declined significantly in October and may not rise significantly in November. As official data becomes available, markets will pay close attention to the pace of movement to China and the Indian subcontinent.

A recent report from the U.S. agricultural attache for Bangladesh says excessive flooding from heavy monsoon rains had a moderate impact on corn and rice, but will not affect wheat because that is grown during the rabi season.
