PANAMA - Nov 6/20 - SNS -- Global chickpea markets remained relatively quiet during the past week, with little movement noted in prices for kabuli in grower and inter dealer markets.
By contrast, export markets for desi type chickpeas were easier on the week, reflecting a major increase in production in Australia and the start of harvest activity in parts of the growing area.
Exporters in that country are hopeful India will reduce import duties on chickpeas in an effort to reduce food prices to urban consumers.
