PANAMA - Nov 6/20 - SNS -- North American mustard seed markets maintained their steady tone through the past week with processors and exporters focussed on fulfilling outstanding shipping commitments.
Despite an earlier harvest, export movement during the first two month's of Canada's marketing year were down 7% from the same period last season and 8% below the previous five year average.
Even so, there is no reason to believe movement across the entire marketing year will change substantially from last season, though exports are expected to fall 5% below their recent five year average to around 111,000 metric tons (MT) by the end of the 2020-21 marketing campaign.
