Firm Week in Peas
PANAMA - Oct 30/20 - SNS -- Field pea markets maintained their firm tone through the past week against relatively strong export movement and rising price objectives on the part of many growers.
In Canada, bulk loadings of peas for export are now running almost 300,000 metric tons (MT) ahead of last year, with preliminary data suggesting bulk loadings in October totalled 402,400 MT, compared to around 631,000 the previous month.
Grower participation in markets remains relatively strong, with 35% of all peas believed to be available on farms delivered facilities reporting to the Canadian Grain Commission, compared to 29% at the same time last year.
