Solid Movement Supporting Lentils
PANAMA - Oct 23/20 - SNS -- Lentil markets continued to trend upwards throughout the past week in origin markets while competition for available export demand has seen emergence of wide spreads among sellers.
With grower markets trending upward and most processors and exporters unwilling to hold speculative long positions, some traders have begun offering accumulated inventories below their replacement cost.
Interestingly, export trading levels for both red and green lentils remain in the bottom half of their historic prices range, while prices offered to farmers have now advanced into the top half of their long term price ranges.
