Lentil Imports By Turkey Reveal Soft Month

PANAMA - Oct 20/20 - SNS -- Turkey's imports of lentils in August fell sharply versus the previous month, judging from data from Turkish Statistical Institute (TURKSTAT).

Total imports throughout the month amounted to 15,994 metric tons (MT), down 61% from the previous month's total of 40,976. So far imports have amounted to 425,128 MT, up from 199,166 in the same period the last calendar year.

Canada was the number one shipper during the month, supplying 11,637 MT. Syria was the second most important shipper shipping 1,991 MT, followed by United States at 795 MT.
