Confection Sunflower Imports By Spain Post Weak Month

PANAMA - Oct 16/20 - SNS -- At this point in this calendar year revealed a weaker performance, with confection sunflower imports by Spain posted significant declines, slumping relative to the previous month in August, judging from the most recent data from Eurostat.

Total imports during the month amounted to 6,405 metric tons (MT), down 39% from the previous month's total of 10,493. So far imports have totalled 187,609 MT, up from 149,713 in the same period the last calendar year.

The number one shipper during the month was China, shipping 2,943 MT. France was the second most important supplier shipping 1,440 MT, followed by United States at 900 MT.
