Bean Harvest 79% Complete

WASHINGTON - Oct 5/20 - SNS -- This year's dry edible bean harvest in the United States is advancing rapidly with good conditions reported in almost all states, judging from the latest state level reports.

The harvest is now 79% complete, compared to 69% at this time last year and the recent five year average of 98%. Some processors worry about the impact recent rains in Michigan could have the quality of some classes of beans grown in the state.

This year's chickpea harvest is now 96% complete, compared to 76% at the same time last year.
