Chickpeas See Some Price Movement

PANAMA - Oct 2/20 - SNS -- International chickpea markets maintained a relatively quiet tone through the past week, though some exporters have been reducing asking prices in an effort to drive demand.

This is reflected in recent reductions in reported trading levels for Mexican origin kabuli type chickpeas in some export destinations.

That is a critical change for world markets because that country continues to set the tone for prices, with other origins and calibers generally discounted to Mexico.
