Weak Start To Lentil Bulk Exports

WINNIPEG - Oct 1/20 - SNS -- The Canadian Grain Commission (CGC) reports 2,000 metric tons (MT) lentils were loaded for export through licensed facilities which are required to report to it all grain movement in August.

The CGC reports 27,200 MT were shipped the same month last year, while movement is down from the 143,100 MT shipped the previous month.

Of bulk lentils shipped during the month, all were shipped direct from Prairie elevators to North American destinations.

Reviewing lentil shipments by destination for the month, the CGC said 800 MT of other grades went to Mexico; and 1,200 MT of other grades to the United States.
