Bean Harvest Two-Thirds Complete

WASHINGTON - Sep 28/20 - SNS -- Almost two thirds of the U.S. dry edible bean crop is now in the bin as weather conditions in most areas are making field work easy for farmers, judging from the latest state level reports.

The harvest is now 65% complete, compared to 567% at this time last year and the recent five year average of 82%, with all states reporting beans are either being brought in or will soon be ready for combines.

This year's chickpea harvest is almost 90% complete, with progress in some key states now advancing slowly, suggesting growers are focusing on other crops and waiting for later seeded fields to mature.
