Russia's Sunflower Seed Exports Record Weak Month
PANAMA - Sep 9/20 - SNS -- So far during the current calendar year recorded a easier month, with sunflower seed shipments from Russia posted massive declines, sinking relative to the previous month in June, judging from recent statistics from Federal Customs Service of Russia.
Total export sales for the month reached 9,503 metric tons (MT), down 85% from the previous month's total of 61,348. So far movement has totalled 841,481 MT, up from 277,511 during the previous calendar year.
Turkey was the top importer during the month, receiving 7,536 MT. Belarus was the second most important buyer buying 1,121 MT, followed by Kazakhstan at 470 MT.
