Lentils Mixed As Harvest Advances

PANAMA - Sep 4/20 - SNS -- International lentil markets were mixed as harvests in Canada and the United States continued to make excellent progress during the past week.

Canada's harvest is entering its final stages, with processors starting to get a better idea of the overall quality of this year's crop.

Saskatchewan Agriculture reported that 81% was in the bin as the week got underway, up from 39% at the same time last year. This suggests roughly 1.83 million metric tons (MT) of new crop lentils were in the bin, compared to under 800,000 at the same time last year.
