Quality Issues Emerging in Saskatchewan

SASKATOON - Sep 3/20 - SNS -- Saskatchewan's harvest bounded forward during the last week of August, with 28% of all crops now in the bin, compared to 11% last year and the recent 10-year average of 22%, according to Saskatchewan Agriculture's weekly crop report.

The southwest region continues to have made the most progress in the province, with 50% of the crop combined. The southeast region has 39% combined, the west-central 25%, the east-central 20%, the northeast 10% and the northwest three%.

On a crop by crop basis, this year's lentil harvest is now 81% complete, compared to 73% for peas, and 28% for chickpeas. Among other special crops, the mustard seed harvest is most advanced at 53% complete, versus just 6% for canaryseed.
