Spain's Confection Sunflower Imports Post Weak Month

PANAMA - Aug 19/20 - SNS -- Imports of confection sunflowers for Spain sank relative to the previous month in June, official trade data from Eurostat shows.

Imports during the month reached 6,543 metric tons (MT), down from 41,477 MT the prior month. This lifted imports so far during the calendar year to 143,530, up 13% last year.

China was the number one origin, shipping 4,270 MT. Argentina was the second most important supplier selling 1,251 MT, followed by United States at 954 MT.
