Green Pea Premium Evaporates
PANAMA - Aug 14/20 - SNS -- North American field pea markets were modestly weaker on the week, with spot markets now in line with new crop in the face of harvest activity in both Canada and the United States.
As the week got underway, over 162,000 metric tons (MT) were in the bin in western Canada, along with almost 292,000 MT in the United States.
Markets remain moderately impressed by the resilience of green pea markets, given that combined seeded area and production will be up significantly over last year in the United States and Canada.
