Mixed Week in Lentils
PANAMA - Aug 14/20 - SNS -- North American lentil markets finished the week's trading on a mixed note, with spot and new crop prices converging as harvest activity in now underway across much of North America.
The week started with 3% of Canada's crop in the bin, compared to 1% at the same time last year and the previous five year average of 19% complete after the first week of August.
Weather conditions remain mostly hot and dry, which would be expected to see growers make good progress harvesting fields, though concerns remain about the impact conditions continue to have on the yield potential of late seeded fields.
