Turkey's Lentil Imports Sustain Solid Performance

PANAMA - Aug 14/20 - SNS -- Imports of lentils by Turkey made massive improvement, leaping relative to the previous month in June, official data from Turkish Statistical Institute (TURKSTAT) shows.

Imports for the month reached 89,491 metric tons (MT), up from 27,978 MT the previous month. This increased imports so far during the calendar year to 368,158, up 148% last year.

The latest trade statistics showed Canada was largest export origin, selling 85,274 MT. Kazakhstan was the second most important shipper selling 2,152 MT, followed by Russia at 1,070 MT.
