Canada's Lentil Exports Maintain Firm Trend
PANAMA - Aug 5/20 - SNS -- Movement of lentils from Canada advanced relative to the previous month in June, official data from Statistics Canada reveals.
Shipments during the month totalled 338,857 metric tons (MT), up from 326,529 MT the previous month. This boosted export sales so far during the marketing year to 2,561,706, up 39% last year.
Current trade statistics reported India was largest destination, buying 178,964 MT in the month. Bangladesh was the second most important importer receiving 28,095 MT, followed by United Arab Emirates at 17,179 MT.
