Limited Demand at Closing Pea Season

PANAMA - Jul 31/20 - SNS -- International field pea markets were easier on the week, reflecting limited ending season demand for North American product as buyers wait for new crop product to become available.

The net result is markets in spot and deferred shipping positions are now at similar levels in both grower and inter-dealer markets.

Interestingly, nominal export asking prices for U.S. origin product was mostly unchanged on the week, reflecting relatively good domestic buying interest as packagers restock inventories depleted during the early days of the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic.
