Strong Season Ending For Lentils

PANAMA - Jul 31/20 - SNS -- Lentil markets closed out the marketing year in Canada on a strong note against significant exports of bulk product to India and other destinations.

Buyers in India are taking advantage of the import duty reduction, which expires on August 31.

Preliminary data suggests at almost 125,000 metric tons (MT) of Canadian lentils were loaded for bulk export in July, setting a record for bulk loadings the month. The record for all types of export movement of lentils for July was set in 2012, when shipments approached 188,000 MT.
