Lentil Imports By Turkey Reveal Slow Month

PANAMA - Jul 14/20 - SNS -- At this point in the current calendar year posted a easier performance, with lentil imports for Turkey shrank compared to the previous month in May, judging from the most recent data from Turkish Statistical Institute (TURKSTAT).

Imports during the month totalled 27,776 metric tons (MT), down from 81,459 MT the previous month. This boosted imports so far during the calendar year to 278,466, up 107% last year.

The latest trade data showed Canada was most important supplier, supplying 17,502 MT. Kazakhstan was the second most important origin shipping 8,017 MT, followed by Russia at 1,161 MT.
