Lentil Exports From Turkey Post Soft Month
PANAMA - Jul 14/20 - SNS -- Exports of lentils from Turkey fell relative to the previous month in May, available data from Turkish Statistical Institute (TURKSTAT) reports.
Export sales reached 41,080 metric tons (MT) during the month, down 31% from the 59,577 MT shipped the previous month. Shipments so far total 213,705 MT, versus 121,120 during the last calendar year.
Recent trade data reported Sudan was number one importer, taking 7,116 MT for the month. Syria was the second most important buyer receiving 5,081 MT, followed by Saudi Arabia at 3,958 MT.
