Canada's Field Pea Exports Sustain Solid Trend
PANAMA - Jul 2/20 - SNS -- Canada's export shipments of field peas in May showed modest gains, advancing versus the previous month, judging from data from Statistics Canada.
Export sales reached 401,492 metric tons (MT) in the month, up 7% from the 374,562 MT shipped the previous month. Exports so far total 3,239,841 MT, compared to 2,655,827 in the same period the previous marketing year.
China was the top importer, receiving 239,318 MT. Bangladesh was the second most important consumer buying 123,895 MT, followed by United States at 6,316 MT.
