WASHINGTON - Jun 30/20 - SNS --The 2020 planted area for rye is estimated at 2.26 million acres, up 21% from 2019, according to the USDA's seeded area estimate for 2020. Of this total, about 11.5 million acres are Hard Red Spring wheat.
Harvested area is expected to total 393,000 acres, up 27% from last year. In Oklahoma, 50% of the rye acreage was harvested by June 21, one percentage point ahead of the previous year's pace.
