U.S. Durum Area Jumps 12%

WASHINGTON - Jun 30/20 - SNS --Durum wheat plantings in the U.S. were pegged at 1.50 million acres, up 12% from 2019, according to the USDA's seeded area estimate for 2020.

Acreage increases are expected in all Durum wheat estimating States. Area harvested for grain is expected to total 1.44 million acres, 23% above 2019. As of June 21, harvest in Arizona was 67% complete, 5 percentage points ahead of the 5-year average pace.
