Tightening Stocks Support Peas
PANAMA - Jun 19/20 - SNS -- Field pea markets maintained their firm tone through the past week as available inventories in net exporting countries continue to be rapidly depleted.
Given data on the carry over from last year and the size of the 2019 crop, the supply situation on Canadian farms has reached a critical stage as the marketing year winds down.
As of June 19, 79% of all peas on hand on farms in that country had been delivered to the bulk handling sector, up from 75% by the same time last season.
