Yellow Peas Hold Value, Greens Slip
PANAMA - Jun 12/20 - SNS -- International field pea markets finished the week's trading on a mixed note, with yellow peas maintaining their firm tone while green pea values showed some weakness in the face of easing short term demand.
Spot premiums for yellow peas have been smaller than those for green peas, which is not encouraging buyers to wait for the harvest to cover prospective needs.
New crop discounts in place for green peas would be expected to cause end users to defer purchases until closer to this year's harvest.
