Lentils Maintain Strength
PANAMA - Jun 12/20 - SNS -- Spot lentil markets continued to firm during the past week with processors and exporters optimistic they will see a spike in import demand from India now that base import duties have been reduced by 20%.
Market participants in that country continue to believe this year's rabi season lentil harvest was much smaller than government estimates.
At the same time they believe there will be an overall increase in domestic needs for pulses even though India's domestic supply pipeline appears to be functioning more or less normally.
