U.S. Dry Bean Seeding Reaches 68%

WASHINGTON - Jun 8/20 - SNS -- Seeding of this year's dry edible bean and chickpea crops reached 68% complete during the past week, judging from the latest state level crop progress reports.

Seeding progress is now above the recent five year average of 62% and equal to what was in the ground by the end of the first week of June last year.

Progress has been aided by warm and dry weather conditions in most states. However, crop reporters in some say rains will soon be needed to help with the establishment of all crops.
