Old and New Crop Spreads Narrow

PANAMA - Jun 6/20 - SNS -- Field pea markets finished the week's trading on a mixed note, with old and new crop prices starting to merge now that seeding this year's crop is essentially complete in the northern hemisphere.

Export movement remains strong, with weekly date from the Canadian Grain Commission suggesting 321,000 metric tons (MT) of peas were loaded for bulk shipment from Canada in May, up from almost 260,000 MT in April and well above the 185,000 MT loaded the same month last year.

As it stands, official Canadian field pea exports were up around 537,000 MT over last year, jumping to 2.84 million MT between August and April.
