Field Pea Exports From Canada Continue Strong Trend
PANAMA - Jun 4/20 - SNS -- At this point in this marketing year are maintaining a firmer tone, with field pea export shipments from Canada were up sharply, soaring compared to the previous month in April, according to data from Statistics Canada.
Total export sales for the month reached 374,566 metric tons (MT), up 66% from the previous month's total of 225,929. So far export sales have totalled 2,838,375 MT, up from 2,301,659 in the same period the previous marketing year.
China was the top destination, receiving 210,361 MT. Bangladesh was the second most important buyer buying 88,645 MT, followed by Cuba at 26,000 MT.
