Lentils Exports From Australia Reveal Slow Month

PANAMA - Jun 4/20 - SNS -- So far during this marketing year posted a easier month, with lentils shipments from Australia posted significant declines, slumping relative to the previous month in April, judging from official trade statistics from Australia Bureau of Statistics.

Total shipments during the month amounted to 57,457 metric tons (MT), down 25% from the previous month's total of 76,108. So far export sales have reached 402,394 MT, up from 117,430 during the previous marketing year.

The latest movement statistics reported Bangladesh was top destination, receiving 33,253 MT. Sri Lanka was the second most important consumer taking 12,734 MT, followed by India at 5,508 MT.
