Little Change in Field Peas

PANAMA - May 22/20 - SNS -- International field pea markets were little changed in relatively light trading activity, though supported by efforts by exporters to complete previous sales.

Seeding of the Canadian crop made good progress during the past week, with an estimated 89% of the intended area now planted, compared to 98% by the same time May last year.

Plantings in Saskatchewan were roughly 88% complete as of May 25, compared to 97% at the same time last year and the recent five year average of 98%. Farmers in Alberta report just over 81% of the crop is in the ground, compared to 98% at the same time last year. Seeding is Manitoba is virtually complete.
