Few Changes in Mustard Seed

PANAMA - May 29/20 - SNS -- North American mustard seed markets maintained their quiet tone through the past week, with prices mostly unchanged in limited trading activity.

Seeding of this year's crop made excellent progress in Canada, with around 84% of the intended area sown as of May 25, compared to 88% by the same time last year and the recent five year average of 90% in the ground after the third week of May.

Progress in the United States appears to be mixed, with states like North Dakota reporting limited progress seeding all crops. The USDA does not report on mustard seeding progress, with the result the situation can only be inferred from overall progress in individual states.
