Pakistan's Chickpea Imports Maintain Weak Trend
PANAMA - May 27/20 - SNS -- Pakistan's imports of chickpeas during December fell sharply versus the previous month, according to data from Pakistan Bureau of Statistics.
Imports for the month reached 6,783 metric tons (MT), down from 37,492 MT the prior month. This boosted imports so far during the calendar year to 377,891, down 25% last year.
Russia was the top exporter during the month, shipping 3,255 MT. Iran was the second most important export origin supplying 1,596 MT, followed by Australia at 1,404 MT.
