Little Change in Dry Beans

PANAMA - May 15/20 - SNS -- International dry edible bean markets were little changed with more farmers in the northern hemisphere more focussed on planting this years crops.

There was also some evidence short term demand from domestic packagers and canners has eased in some countries. This was reflected in the spot index for dry edible beans in the United States, which lost 1.4 points to close the week at 166.3.

Despite that and some easing in Australian values, the global index advanced 0.6 points to finish at 155.6. The Canadian pulse prices index also gained 0.7 points to close at 150.1, for its ninth consecutive weekly rise.
