Lentil Exports From Turkey Start On Strong Tone

PANAMA - May 12/20 - SNS -- At this point in the current calendar year with a a stronger tendency, with lentil exports from Turkey jumped compared to the previous month in March, according to trade statistics from Turkish Statistical Institute (TURKSTAT).

Total exports for the month reached 43,990 metric tons (MT), up 26% from the previous month's total of 34,896. So far shipments have reached 113,048 MT, up from 68,733 in the same period the last calendar year.

The most recent trade statistics revealed Djibouti was largest buyer, buying 8,907 MT. Sudan was the second most important destination buying 6,046 MT, followed by Iraq at 5,176 MT.
