Turkey's Lentil Imports Post Easy Month

PANAMA - Apr 30/20 - SNS -- Imports of lentils by Turkey were well down, plunging compared to the previous month in February, recent data from Turkish Statistical Institute (TURKSTAT) reports.

Imports for the month totalled 23,852 metric tons (MT), down from 45,361 MT the prior month. This increased imports so far during the calendar year to 69,212, up 56% last year.

For the month, Kazakhstan was the biggest exporter, supplying 10,454 MT. Canada was the second most important shipper supplying 6,050 MT, followed by Russia at 2,947 MT.
