Beans Maintain Firm Tone

PANAMA - Apr 17/20 - SNS -- Dry edible bean and pulse markets maintained their firm tone through the past week against good short term demand and overall tightening of residual supplies in net exporting countries.

The net result was the spot index for dry edible beans in the United States inched up 0.4 points on the week to close at 167.

By contrast, the Canadian pulse prices index jumped 3.2 points to close at 143.9, while the global index gained 2.3 points to finish at 152.1.
