Lentils Firmer on Week

PANAMA - Apr 14/20 - SNS -- International lentil markets closed the week on a generally firmer note against rising doubts about production in countries like Turkey and India.

This has affected red and green lentil trading levels in both inter dealer and grower markets, with some companies appearing to be accumulating inventory in anticipation of improved sales volumes.

Canadian bulk lentil export shipments continue to maintain a stronger pace than last season, with the Canadian Grain Commission (CGC) reports 22,400 MT of bulk lentils were loaded for export through reporting terminals and primary elevators between March 30 to April 5. This lifted season to date bulk export movement to 673,900 MT, compared to the 403,100 MT reported at this time last season.
