Lentils Blase Over U.S. Seeding Intentions

PANAMA - Apr 3/20 - SNS -- Lentil markets were unaffected by the intention of farmers in the United States to reduce land in lentils from 486,000 to 474,000 acres this year.

Markets are more concerned with Canada's seeding intentions, which will be released at the end of the month. They are expected to show a modest increase over last year because of good movement and relatively strong prices this season.

Exports from the United States are up significantly over last season, with shipments between August and February totalling 152,168 metric tons (MT), up sharply from the 85,216 shipping during the same period in last season.
