Canada's Field Pea Exports Start With Firm Note
PANAMA - Apr 2/20 - SNS -- Shipments of field peas for Canada were up significantly, rising versus the previous month in February, data from Statistics Canada reports.
Total exports in the month reached 301,849 metric tons (MT), up 54% from the previous month's total of 195,440. So far movement has amounted to 2,237,857 MT, up from 1,831,720 in the same period the last marketing year.
The top consumer for the month was China, taking 187,679 MT. Bangladesh was the second most important destination buying 51,595 MT, followed by Nepal at 20,890 MT.
