Canada's Lentil Exports Open On Firm Note
PANAMA - Apr 2/20 - SNS -- Canada's exports of lentils in February were up significantly, rising versus the previous month, according to data from Statistics Canada.
Movement for the month totalled 253,394 metric tons (MT), up from 204,691 MT the previous month. This lifted export sales so far during the marketing year to 1,268,502, up 6% last year.
For the month, India was the top consumer, buying 89,642 MT. Turkey was the second most important importer receiving 56,306 MT, followed by United Arab Emirates at 26,271 MT.
