Canada's Red Lentil Exports Start With Firm Tone
PANAMA - Apr 2/20 - SNS -- Canada's exports of red lentils during February jumped compared to the previous month, according to data from Statistics Canada.
Total shipments during the month reached 180,503 metric tons (MT), up 41% from the previous month's total of 127,896. So far movement has reached 767,054 MT, up from 746,570 in the same period the previous marketing year.
The top importer during the month was India, receiving 82,924 MT. Turkey was the second most important buyer taking 44,653 MT, followed by United Arab Emirates at 21,911 MT.
