Modest Reduction in Lentils Mooted

WASHINGTON - Mar 31/20 - SNS -- Lentil seedings in the United States will slip 2% from last year if farmers stick to their intentions, according to the USDA.

This would see area of all classes come in at 474,000 acres of mainly green lentils.

Planted area is expected to be lower than last season in Idaho, North Dakota, and Washington, while planting intentions are above last year in Montana. If realized, this will be the lowest planted area since 2014.
