Lentil Imports By Turkey Open With Strong Note

PANAMA - Mar 26/20 - SNS -- Imports of lentils by Turkey posted decent increases, moving relative to the previous month in January, the most recent data from Turkish Statistical Institute (TURKSTAT) shows.

The latest statistics showed imports for the month totalled 45,159 metric tons (MT), up 8% from 41,952 the previous month. Compared to the same month last year, imports were up 53% from 29,479 MT.

For the month, Canada was the number one shipper, supplying 31,852 MT. Kazakhstan was the second most important export origin selling 4,505 MT, followed by Russia at 3,606 MT.
